RTTC-Rudy Project Rd 8 Preview

Chippenham & District Wheelers host the final leg of the 2012 RTTC-Rudy Project Time Trial Series at Bishops Canning, Devizes, this weekend.

This, the eighth round of season long competition, sees overall Senior winner Jeff Jones (drag2zero) heading the entry that also includes the Junior leader Jake Coward of the promoting club plus Julia Shaw (drag2zero) and the usual big entry of veterans.

While the majority of categories are done and dusted overall the veteran’s Target Time competition looks like going to the wire, the battle being between John Woodburn (VC Meudon) and Geoff Platts (MG Décor-Team Carbon Bikes).

The veteran’s scratch event sees some `new` names like Sebastian Alder (a3crg-SIS) and Paul Holdsworth (Hounslow & District Wheelers) along side regulars Dave Dent (Wightlink-Offshore RT) and Ian Dalton (Cherry Valley RT).

Tim Challinor (Para T Cycling Squad) and Colin Lynch (Macclesfield Wheelers) head the Disability entry.

Seniors and Espoirs race over 41 miles, the rest 20.5 miles. Event headquarters are at Bishops Cannings Village Hall where refreshments will be available. The event starts at 2pm this afternoon, Saturday.
