The Stang - 2013 Nat Hill Climb

This year sees a new hill climb added to the list of events in Teesside.

The climb of ‘The Stang’ is in the scenic Durham country side. The climb is from Lanthwaithe towards Barnard Castle on Stang Lane.

The road climbs up onto the moors, dips down slightly and then climbs up to the finish at the County Durham border. The climb is unusually long for a hill climb at approximately 3800 meters in length.
 

This new hill climb is all the more significant as the Ferryhill Wheelers organised event on 29th September is a test event for the National Hill Climb Championship in 2013. The event can be entered online.
